Eik is designed and produced by Softlights. Softlights has been at the forefront of innovative lighting design for over 25 years, delivering high-precision solutions for film, television, fashion, and architectural projects. From concept to installation, our small but highly skilled team—comprised of leading minds from the movie and lighting industry—ensures cutting-edge lighting solutions for every project.
Our expertise spans a wide range of applications, including the design, development, and production of over 60+ light labs for DxO, setting the industry standard for accuracy with a margin of less than 1%. These labs, running worldwide, feature more than 396 Softlights “Long Ones” units, providing unparalleled precision in lighting calibration.
In the world of cinema, Softlights has contributed to major productions, such as Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, where we installed LED RGBW strips controlled via DMX consoles to achieve perfect light intensity and color. For The Rosenthal Suite, a Wes Anderson film, we designed and delivered the world’s lightest and most powerful ring light within just two months for Gaffer Pascal Lombardo. Our expertise also extends to historical accuracy, as seen in The Emigrants, where we crafted special lighting to authentically replace 1850s oil lamps.
Our work is trusted by luxury brands, including LVMH—home to Dior, Kenzo, and Givenchy—ensuring their products are showcased under the most exquisite and accurate lighting to enhance customer experience. Additionally, Softlights designs high-precision lighting devices, calibration tools, and backlit Light Boxes for art photography, maintaining the highest standards in the industry.

Our philosophy
EIK - The Light Within
In today’s world, most lamps are priced by their design, not by the quality of the light they create. Since we left the era of the incandescent bulb, light has lost much of its soul. Even premium fixtures often rely on mass-produced LEDs with poor color rendering that disrupts both perception and well-being.
EIK takes a different path.
Built on over 25 years of experience from the demanding worlds of film, television, art, and architecture, we have developed our own LED technology from the semiconductor level up. With proprietary optical coatings, we shape the light’s wavelength to achieve perfect harmony between what the eye sees and what the body feels - much like the balance of natural sunlight.
The challenge with LED
Recreating the full depth and richness of natural light is not simple. It can be difficult for LED light to reproduce all colors with the same accuracy and depth as sunlight or flame. Some tones may appear duller or more “artificial.” This is the very core of EIK’s philosophy - to create light that is as close as possible to our DNA’s natural reference for light: the sun and the flame.
Unlike most competitors who use generic, off-the-shelf LED modules, EIK has developed its own LED engine from the ground up. This ensures perfect dimming performance and eliminates common issues such as electromagnetic interference that can affect other electronic devices.
