The Genesis: FLAME and the Pursuit of Spectral Fidelity

A pivotal moment in this evolution was the creation of FL△ME, Softlights’ compact LED system engineered to mimic real candlelight using a quartet of LEDs (deep red, amber, lime, and 2200 K white) SOFTLIGHTS. By precisely tuning the ratio of these four color channels via DMX or a miniature Bluetooth dimmer, FLAME achieved a level of spectral richness that allowed cinematographers to replace open flames with LEDs—without sacrificing authenticity or visual depth SOFTLIGHTS.

This progression draws directly on FLAME’s multi-LED calibration techniques, extending them to a broader spectrum tailored to human circadian needs.
